Something new, again?! New member and our first original song!

Some of you may have noticed that we weren’t so consistent in posting regular updates about things going on in our band. Weeeell, some things have changed and now is the time to inform you about them. So how do we start… In medias res: We have a new violin player! Patricija is the new member of our not so little crew. We’ve been practicing and preparing for the next big fiesta in May of 2019. But don’t worry, maybe you’ll hear us earlier 😉

As we said before, this summer was productive. For a long time (since the beginning of this band, 5 years) we’ve been discussing about making our own music. There was always an idea but it required a lot of inspiration, will and hard work so that it could develop into something worth presenting. So here we are, presenting our first original song “The Story of a Sailor”. Band brothers, Dino and David placed a bet between themselves that only they know of and it led to Dino writing the lyrics to this song. It’s a sweet secret. So, what’s this song about? Long story (of a Sailor) short, the song talks about a sailor who tries to drown his sorrow in many pints of beer after he lost his dear lady. After many drunken nights he realizes that no woman can fulfill him more like the ship he swore to so he drunkenly stands up and keeps on sailing with his loyal crew. Singers who painted our Sailors adventures are Ivan-Goran and Viktor Herman.

In the end, ladies and gentleman, we’ve opened a new chapter in CDS, very exciting for us and we hope for you pleasant to listen to. Soon you’ll hear from us again with new information so stay tuned! Until then, enjoy in our new song and let us know what you think about it!

Captain’s Daughter & the Sailors: The Story of a Sailor

He left at noon from hell too soon
Went on to drink the whole month of June
Forget the things he saw back there
What demons fear but sailors dare

He drank two pints with stars at night
Two more he chugged, the sails unite
Then came the beast up from the sea
Scavenged him of his lady

Sailors of the Irish sea
With freedom on our back
Drink thy ale for seven gales
Until we’re in the sack

The story of a sailor is all we ever knew
Forget the pain and drink away
But never forget your crew

As he sailed to find his part
At Galway found a new sweetheart
A golden gal with bright eyes blue
And on her arm a rose tattoo

His heart was locked but as he walked
The mind and soul to him they talked
“No woman can fulfill you more
than the ship to which you swore”

Sailors of the Irish sea
With freedom on our back
Drink thy ale for seven gales
Until we’re in the sack

The story of a sailor is all we ever knew
Forget the pain and drink away
But never forget your crew

The Irish seas he did but miss
The captain’s daughter when he kissed
Hoist the sails, packed his charms
His mates to greet with open arms

Sailors of the Irish sea
With freedom on our back
Drink thy ale for seven gales
Until we’re in the sack

The story of a sailor is all we ever knew
Forget the pain and drink away
But never forget your crew
